The RN Telemetry is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. This role involves using advanced telemetry equipment to monitor patients’ heart rhythms and vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients’ heart rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
- Interpret and analyze EKG data to detect abnormalities and report findings to physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care, IV therapy, and patient education.
- Respond to emergency situations and perform life-saving procedures such as CPR.
- Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain and troubleshoot telemetry equipment to ensure accurate monitoring.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices in telemetry nursing.

Education/Experience:
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience in telemetry or cardiac care preferred.
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and arrhythmias.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
